Uninstall previous Bluetooth software. If you have previously installed any Bluetooth software you should uninstall it before proceeding.
- SOURCE: After update screen just says Problem with map. Hi, I am a complete ignoramus when it comes to this sort of thing but I am pretty sure that you have the same problem I have, I updated my GPS just like you did because, heck, that is what TOMTOM recommend and hey presto I wound up with an application 'core' of version 8.x trying to access a map with a version of 7.x.

- Hi,
I downloaded and installed the new my drive connect, but it wont start because of some errors.
See attached pic for more information. - @DelliAnO
Could you try going to MyDrive Connect - Settings- General tab
Change to a different Graphics mode - Save settings and try launching MyDrive Connect again.

Try the search; the information you are looking for could already be available. - Just installed this update on my Win 10 64-bit PC to update my Start25
Installed fine, connected everything OK, and began the GPS update.
GPS connected to the PC successfully, MyDrive Connect downloaded the update and showed itself as starting the updating process.
It then announced, as seen here, that it was 'waiting for your device'.
And there it hangs. I have tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling it, but that changes nothing.
Never had a problem with the previous version of MyDrive Connect, so assume this is connected with the new version. And jolly irritating it is!
So what do I do now, please? - 0
One of the first things I tried, I'm afraid. Made no difference.Try disconnecting and reconnecting the device.- does this also solve my problem.
it keeps turning on the window where you can access the internal of the tomtom urbanrider.
it will not stop, unless i stop the program.
Again, I see TomTom has FORCED us to update our software from a working one, to the version where I receive the identical problem shown above and yet again, I am wasting my Sunday afternoon trying to update my device (GPS Fix and Maps etc) that I bought new but has again, become an expensive plastic paperweight.@DelliAnO

Once you get the above message like DelliAno did, the app crashes and are unable to change graphics mode but you can see that it is set to ANGLE prior to it crashing.
Now, I am not about to start wasting any further time hunting around the internet for patch files as per your TomTom MyDrive Connect app popup says.
So, I want TomTom to STOP dictating to us very-long-standing customers as to what we can and cannot do. If we have a working MyDrive Connect, STOP FORCING us to update to one that constantly crashes.
Now, I request answers so that I can get a working MyDrive Connect that I can just install, get working, not have FORCED UPDATES and not waste hours of MY TIME trying to fix TomTom's errors.
Thank you!- 0

try this, download the latest update and it should work. - Hi all
@999Responder
You have the message 'Can not create an OpenGL context for QSurfaceFormat format (version 2.0 ...'?
You close the error message and your MDC display window crashes.
After that, do you have the MDC icon in the Windows taskbar next to the clock? Like this:
If yes, close all MDC windows.
Right-click on the MDC icon in the taskbar and choose 'Settings'.
Go to the 'General' tab and choose another graphic mode, don't forget to validate your choice by clicking on the green 'Save settings' button. If OpenGL Angle doesn't work, take the OpenGL software and follow the instructions on the screen.
You will have this pop-up about the display, answer the question:
- If YES, close the MDC window and restart the PC to confirm your choice.
- If NO, the MDC window reopens automatically.
New window pop-up about the display, if it's still 'NO', the download of a new version is proposed, validate.
Wait for the download time, the MDC window closes automatically and the installation of version 4.1.8.3408 starts.
I hope this will help you.

Hi Laure123,
I am unable to go to the settings tab on the taskbar. As once the program crashes after seeing the pop-up messgae 'cannot create......', the taskbar icon for MDC is frozen and I am unable to change any graphics mode as I stated above and then the MDC icon disappears.
TomTom don't really care about us customers anyway. As many, many people have had this problem since January and asking TomTom to revert back to the previous working one but as TomTom constantly does, ignores their customers - as if to say 'tough sh##, you WILL USE what we tell you' and we cannot do anything about it, as they are a Law unto themselves, and we cannot prosecute as the individual Domestic Laws do not recognise one another and so, we're stuck, being dictated to.
Anyway, payday Friday. TomTom Satnav can go in the bin, my 15 year TomTom account will be cancelled and I'll buy a new Garmin.
This is the thanks you get for being a Loyal 15 year TomTom account holder and only buying TomTom devices, maps, live traffic etc. They just show you the 'middle finger salute' and say tough Mr Customer.
Caio. - Hi @999Responder
With the MDC icon in the taskbar frozen and therefore unusable it remains the manual method.
you can download the downgrade version 4.1.8.3408 here directly from the official TomTom servers:
http://cdn.sa.services.tomtom.com/static/sa/versions/InstallMyDriveConnect_downgrade.exe
This version is built like the previous before january 2018.
Double- click on the file, the installer will remove the MDC present on your PC before installing the downgrade version.
Regards. - i have the same version 4.1.8.3408 but when i tried to use the latest version which is 4.2.1.3495 this just did not work so tomtom when will they fix this for their customers come on and please anyone apart from tomtom does anybody know how to download the latest version without any problems please leave some info for the update many thanks from me

Hi Laure123,
Thanks for your help. At least you're giving advice - So, Kudos to you pal :-)
I'll try your link tomorrow but my concern will be that TomTom will eventually force you to update to their current version, by using their 'Important Update' message and the 'Ignore' button will be removed - hence my current problem.
Thank you anyway, I'll let you know once I have tried it :-) - Hi @999Responder
Don't worry this version doesn't force the software update, it will leave you quiet, no surprise pop-up.
I hope that for your next visit to this forum you will have an operational MDC. - Hi @nadeems tomtom
I am a customer user like you so I can not answer instead of TomTom company.
At this moment you have version 4.1.8.3408 that works and allows you to update your device. And that's what we all want, that's the main thing.
For the fact that version 4.2.1.3495 does not work on your computer, I think that TomTom unfortunately can not do much more. The problem is not with the TomTom MyDrive Connect software, but with the configuration of your computer.
There are different types of installation errors that have different solutions, but all are related to each user's operating system and PC. These are Windows Update issues or system issues or driver update issues.
Personally if I had the same error message as you on one of my PCs: 'Unable to create an OpenGL context for QSurfaceFormat format (version 2.0 ...'
I will go straight to see the update of my graphics card driver. This OpenGL problem is usually related to an outdated or incorrectly installed or incorrectly configured graphics card driver. and I will check the 3D settings. Perhaps there would be an improvement or not.
But this is only my opinion, everyone does what he wants on his computer under his own responsibility.

Sorry but that is an invalid argument. If the MyDrive software worked fine before it forced (!!) an update then it causes an issue; that is not the fault of a suddenly outdated graphics driver - which quite frankly is unlikely anyway.
Earlier today I have raised a separate post 'MyDrive Connect has black screen after Windows 10 Feature update to v 1803' although the Windows 10 feature update followed immediately after the TomTom update, the MyDrive update did not initially work correctly anyway and the initial message was related to an openGL driver issue.
All of this is irrelevent. TomTom have forced an update onto public customers computers that is incompatible with Windows 7 or 10, one of the worlds most common Operating Systems and which it was designed to work on. IMHO for TomTom to even suggest it is the customers problem and to manually download software from two versions ago is a bit like professional suicide.
I am not angry nor having a rant about this as I believe in time a further udpate will fix these issues, but I find it unusual that Tomtom have not retracted or at least disabled the forced option to use the recent 4.2.1.3495 update which is clearly causing probelms for its customers.
